The Story.

Hey everyone, my name is Seamus and I could really use your help right now. I really like video games, in fact I like them so much I'd love to be able to make a career for myself in the field of video games. The ability to express yourself creatively while designing a game is amazing. Being able to create beautiful enviornments, engaging stories and complex characters. I wanted to improve my chances of getting into a decent school, so I started working on Project C.A.I.N.
Project C.A.I.N. is a game that takes inspiration from several of the Megaman series. Particularly, Megaman Battle Network. Cyber terrorism is at an all-time high due to heightened connectivity in this day and age. Computer scientist Dr. Mara Kate leads a team of scientists on a secret project to counter the increased cyber attacks. The team designed the "Automators" Automated A.I.s that can regulate security and rewrite programming to counter hacking attempts. The Automators are released to the public and the level of cyber attacks drastically decreases. However, a few months after the project was finished every member of the science team went missing. The authorities release a story that the scientists were likely either captured or killed by a well-known cyber terrorist organization. But soon, a mystery begins to emerge. Dr. Kate's son, Grayson receives some of her personal belongings and finds clues leading to secret locations, data and information on the projects she was involved in. Using the info he recovered, he finds a supercomputer with notes from various government projects referring to a project code-named: C.A.I.N. But, his most astounding discovery was A.R.I., a fully self-aware  Artificial Intelligence capable of independant thought. A.R.I. claims to have no memory as to why she was created or what happened to his mother, but learns that she has the ability to travel within electronic devices and alter their functions at will. By decoding more information within the computer, Grayson discovers that A.R.I. is an "Avatar," a fully functional A.I. that would serve as the replacement to the Automators. Deciding to trust A.R.I. thinking she can lead him to his missing mother, Grayson recovers her from the computer system and keeps her existence secret to protect her. However, the consequences of his actions begin to catch up with him quickly. All kinds of technology starts going haywire. Traffic control systems, hospital life support and even secret government weapons. Using A.R.I. to counter these strange malfunctions, Grayson uncovers more and more clues regarding his Mother's disappearance and they all seem to lead back to the mysterious project C.A.I.N.

The Impact.

Right now, I have the story for the game written up and preliminary artwork and character designs created, but to get the project up and running I need a decent computer, software needed to create the game's prototype, as well as funds to compensate the artist working on concepts for the game itself. The game will first be created in RPG maker to make sure the game has the structure I want and then be worked on further through programs like Unity while I am in school. While funding for this project continues here, I'll post updates regularly, including character designs, in-game screenshots and live gameplay. So, if you're able to donate and share to this campaign I'd greatly appreciate it, even if just a dollar or two. My goals aren't too ambitious and if this reaches enough people I can hopefully sustain this campaign through small donations alone.

What I Need & What You Get.

Right now, I need funds to get a new computer, the software to design the game itself and compensation for the artist who is doing the character design and assisting with the promotion of this project. Anyone who contributes will be allowed to download the game when it's released. I'll be sure to keep in contact with you on my facebook page here:https://www.facebook.com/Project-CAIN-1217554148321955/?ref=page_internal
Also, anyone who donates will be allowed to submit character designs through this site.  This can either be a basic enemy design, which are meant to look like robotic animals, mostly bugs with weapons attached to them. Or an Avatar, a humanoid character that looks similar to the designs for the characters A.R.I. and Striker shown here:

anything submitted and integrated into the game itself will be credited to the original designer and ultimatemaverickx on deviantart (link to his personal page here:http://ultimatemaverickx.deviantart.com/).

Other ways to help.
Since I'm only looking for small donations and trying to reach as many people as possible. Other ways you could help support this campaign is by sharing the link on your social media platforms to increase the amount of potential contributors to this project. If you could, it would help out my chances of getting what I need to complete this project greatly. Anyways, thank you all in advance for helping out however you can, you're helping me make my dream come true and I couldn't be more grateful!
