Our dear friend, Teri Everts Drake, is in her second bout of breast cancer and is the strongest, most positive person we have ever had the pleasure of knowing. Her first bout of cancer was 11 years ago and was estrogen positive cancer. During the course of chemo, she was severely burned by the person administering it. She suffered from peeling skin, nails and hair (including eyelashes) and had severe nerve damage. She lost everything but beat the cancer and recovered.
She found out the cancer returned last October but this time the cancer was "Her2 positive AND negative", making it an extremely rare cancer. So far she has had two surgeries and has been getting chemo since December and is scheduled to continue to December 2017. BOTH times the cancer spread to her lymph nodes. She had her last surgery about two weeks ago and is currenly awaiting the results.
Teri is one to face her problems head on with no complaining, while still willing to help anyone in need herself. While undergoing this extensive treatment and suffering the severe effects, she has never complained or asked "why me". She is a true testament to the word strong.
In the meantime, while undergoing all of this treatment, of course the medical bills keep piling up. She has been unable to work since her disastrous result of the chemo permanently disabling her 11 years ago but she keeps trudging along.
We are setting up this fund hoping to help her cover some of these medical bills, which now come to over $100,000. No donation is too small and we would sincerely appreciate anything your heart tells you.
Even though Teri has gone through these such strenuous health problems, her faith in God and her love of life has never waivered. We thank you from the bottom of our hearts for any help you can give Teri. THANK YOU!!!
