For Andy

In December 2016 my brother Andy received the devastating news that he had a grade 4 medulloblastoma, an aggressive type of brain tumour.  Andy immediately had surgery to remove the tumour then months of radiotherapy followed.  Andy faced this with such bravery and the amazing sense of humour that so many of you will know!

September 2017 brought the news that we’d all be waiting for, the radiotherapy had been a success and Andy had the all clear; 2018 would be a year to look forward to and get back to normality.  

On Easter Sunday we got the news we prayed we would never hear. A routine scan showed regrowth of the tumour.  
Following appointments with specialists, Andy was given limited treatment options with low success rates and horrendous side effects.

Andy has begun alternative treatment which he is self funding; treatment that isn’t covered on his medical insurance in Canada and wouldn’t be available at all in the UK.  

Andy continues to show such strength and positivity and has the support of so many people, especially his husband Shaun who has stopped working to be his carer.

 I have set up this page to raise funds to support Andy financially and relieve some of the pressure whilst he fights this.

I will be running the Worden Park 10k on 20th May and Holly will be running the 1 mile fun run.
