MOST FILMS MADE BEFORE 1935 ARE GONE! Some are lost due to fire- others, the studios felt saving their past films was too much hassle. My new feature documentary- LOST EMULSION tells how so many films became lost and what is being done to save what is left.
A film that is finished, or "in the can" as they say, still needs funding- funds to create, ship and market DVDs and other expenses.
LOST EMULSION is a fact filled, fun 80 minute documentary with interviews with George Willeman and Rob Stone (Library of Congress) David Schwartz (Museum of the Moving Image) Tom Meyers and Nelson Page (Fort Lee Film Commission) Christa Fuller (Samuel Fuller's wife) Ben Model, Steve Massa, Bill Shelley, Hugh Munro Neely, Marilyn Ann Moss, Roy Frumkes, David DelValle and more.
A film is rather worthless if nobody sees it. I am thrilled that fellow historians have seen the film, and stated they learned more about lost cinema, and that newcomers are finding film preservation fascinating. So I am very thankful to all who donate.
