Medical Fund-MacDonald & Kindred
Liam, his 12-year-old son, Carlene, his 18-year-old daughter, and Krista are on the road to be by his side at Stanford Medical Center in the Bay Area.
As most of you know, Doug has been a successful self-employed painter for 28 years. He has three employees; Andrew, D.J. and Fidel.
Doug has given of his time to the community for many years as a Little League baseball coach. He loves his community and is always there to help out whenever needed. This donation page is an incredible way for our friends and family to help the MacDonald family in their time of need. We thank you from the bottom of our hearts for any help that you could provide to this good family. We will do our best to update you all as often as possible on Doug’s progress.
Please feel free to share this page with your friends and family, it would be greatly appreciated.
Marie, Jim and Mitchell Neumann
I am sitting here in Los Osos looking at the most beautiful rainbow; another reminder of how lucky we are to live in such a beautiful world.
I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving.
I want everyone to know that I am feeling much better.
I am in the process of learning to walk again; it was much easier to learn the first time.
I was so humbled and touched by all the prayers, good wishes, support, and donations you have given to me and my family. All that LOVE I received reminded me how much I have to live for; and motivates me to work hard during this healing process.
The success of the gofundme account took me by surprise; it has enabled me and my family to “weather the storm” and make ends meet. Thank you to everyone who donated.
I would like to thank my family for their patience, love, and support. Like my father said, “that is what family is for”.
I look forward to seeing everyone,
I am sincerely thankful,
Douglas Mac Donald
P.S. Is it baseball season yet?
Doug and I are more than thankful for everyone's prayers, donations, hugs, kind words and now some meals. Los Osos has wrapped its arms around us and we feel comforted knowing you are here. It's hard to accept help but in times like this...we are forever grateful.
So an update on our dear friend Doug. He is progressing quickly and still remains in Stanford Hospital. Stanford is amazing!! They have a team for everything, so grateful they are close to family and friends. We hope to have him released soon, moving on to an Acute Rehab Center for a short stay. He will remain up North with his family for more rehabilitation and strength from his loved ones. We hope to see him soon but nothing for sure at this time.
Doug has a long journey ahead of him but he is in good spirits and remains positive. WE LOVE YOU ALL!!!!!!! THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!!!!!
1) I will set up a Meal Train for a month or two
2) Exercise Jethro, the hound
3) Weed the yard and water
4) Every two weeks or so clean the house
If you are interested please send me your name, phone number and email address. When the time comes I will contact you.
Krista, Carlene and Liam.
Thank you for the update - you have all been on my mind. Lots of us want to help. When I was diagnosed with cancer all those years ago, a wise friend said "Let people help you". It is hard to do, but it brings a whole community together and will help you get the rest you need for this journey. Love you!
Thinking about you brother. Hopefully we can connect soon. It's been a strange one for many people. I broke my pelvis and sacrum on the mountain this year and almost froze to death waiting in the snow for 5 hours for rescue. It took a while to fight back but I'm dancing once again and so will you. Love you Doug. Take care buddy.
Good to hear from you Doug! We are so glad to know you are doing better. :)
So glad he is in good spirits. That can make all the difference in his rehabilitation! God Bless the whole family! Prayers will continue for his recovery and the families well being!
Wondering if anyone has any updates as to how Doug is doing?
Krista, I'm so sorry. Please tell Doug I'm thinking of him and sending my love and best wishes for his recovery.
I would be most happy to take the dog on walks with me. Who is watching him now?
Love you Krista! Please send hugs to Liam and Carlene too. You are constantly in my thoughts and prayers.
Keeping you all in our prayers!
Krista please let us know how we can be of help to you and the kids...
You are all in our hearts and prayers!
