Ride For HIS Cause

My name is Paul Homan. I’m the pastor at First Assembly of God in Havana, IL. As you are aware there are a lot of people both here in the United States as well as around the world, especially children and teenagers, who really need someone to care enough to do something to impact their lives. I have decided to do SOMETHING by raising funds to help 2 great organizations that directly impact people and their lives. They are a part of my church, the Assemblies of God. I would like to tell you a bit about them.

The first is called Boys and Girls Missionary Challenge or BGMC. Their mission is to provide supplies to missionaries that work around the world helping children by digging water wells and providing for homeless street kids, orphanages, feeding programs, school supplies, helping to send kids to camps, making children’s TV programs and videos and much more!

The second is called Speed the Light or STL. Their mission is to provide essential transportation and creative communication equipment to help accomplish BGMC’s mission. Both of these organizations also provide the means for children and adults to hear about the message of Jesus.

I have decided to ride a bike, the kind you pedal not the kind with a motor, from home here in Havana, IL to Illinois District Council, our annual conference, which is in Naperville, IL this year. This is a distance of about 180 miles. I am asking everyone to consider pledging some amount per mile that I ride. This will be a major endeavor for me as I have not spent any significant time on a bike in the last 30 years. I began preparing around the middle of February. My trip is planned over two days, Friday May 13 and Saturday May 14.

I hope to raise over $2,000. Would you please do something to impact lives around the world.
