Masoud, the Somalian refugee who was attacked by local people in Lorengau town last week is still in a bad situation. His sight is poor because of the hard knock on his head and his memory has also been affected. The left side of his face and head are swollen because of the significant injury on his head. The Manus weather is humid and hot and it's so dangerous because of the risk of infection. The immigration staff took him to IHMS (medical services in the detention centre) and he was in there last night. But today they took him back to the East Lorengau transit centre by force (information told to us by police) and he was told he must go to Lorengau hospital in the town and pay for it himself. Lorengau hospital is very basic and run down but the limited services are expensive, even for local people. And there are no medical facilities in Lorengau hospital to do the necessary medical tests on his head. Last night and today when some of his friends wanted to visit him they were not allowed. We in Manus prison are deeply worried for Masoud, he is a refugee and can not pay for his health care. The Australian government is responsible for him and must look after him.

Hi everyone rather than wait for Governments let's help this guy out. All funds raised will be paid to the Lorengau hospital to pay for his care and any surplus will be held to assist other asylum seekers in similar distress on Manus Island
