Sparrow Farm Bridge Replacement
Donation protected
In October, the Montpelier Area Mountain Bike Association will rebuild the bridge on the Sparrow Farm Trail.
The Sparrow Farm Trail is one of the Montpelier area's key mountain bike and running trails. The current state of the bridge presents a challenge for even seasoned riders. If you use these trails, we need your help!
The budget for the project is about $4,500. We have a $1,750 grant from VMBA, $500 from Concept2 and $300 pledged from East Montpelier Trails Inc. We are looking to raise $1,500 from trail users and MAMBA membership dues will be use to cover the remaining balance (~$450).
We are requesting additional, project-specific donations because this trail is used by MAMBA and non-MAMBA members. We hope that all users chip in a few dollars or volunteer sweat equity to make this bridge safer for all, especially new and intermediate riders.
MAMBA will rebuild the bridge using hemlock footing as the private landowner who generously allows access on his land requests we do not use pressure-treated lumber. This means this is not a "forever" fix, but it will be a big improvement for one of our best-used trails.
If you can't donate cash, please consider volunteering. If you can't volunteer, please consider a cash donation. If you can do both, you will be a local hero!
TRAIL WORK DAY IS 10/15, DETAILS TO COME!
