Save the Modesto, CA Highland Games

For 35 years, the Modesto Highland Games have been a joyful community event with bag pipe bands, highland dancers, three stages of entertainment, vendors, food, and more ! Traditionally held on the first Saturday in June, the games have been rained out once, but June 2016 was predicted to be 108 degrees, and folks just didn't come. Hence we are short several thousand dollars for 2017 and beyond.  The money donated will insure that these games continue into the future.  The funds need to be in place by January to secure bands and entertainers.  It takes $20-$25000 to put on the games (publicity, entertainers, bag pipe bands, park rental, security, etc.) We are the only highland games between Sacramento and Fresno, and a vital part of the central valley of California. Our visitors come from all over California; some  have never heard bagpipes and are not aware that we have many Scots, Irish and other Celts in our area. It  means so much to be able to continue this local event which celebrates traditions, family fun, and world music.

For those who can contribute $5.00 or $5000, we would be so thankful, and pleased that we can continue the Modesto Highland Games in Central California.
