Hi guys! My name is Groot!
That's right, tell me you didn't just chuckle out loud!! That's ok, I think it's a great name :)
I was found wandering around the streets of Corpus Christi, TX when I was scooped up by the animal control people. I am an approximately 3 year old American Staffy mix boy, and I am a "Big tub of love and licks" as it said on my bio at the shelter!
They said I am such a sweet and affectionate boy who just want to be loved on!
I was found with no tags or microchip, and no one has come to claim me from the shelter, though someone clearly "cared" enough to chop off my ears!!
I liked my ears the way they were but I guess they wanted me looking all tough? I don't know. Some humans are strange like that I guess.
Oh and the humans that had me before didn't take very good care of me so now I have heartworm. I have WORMS in my heart guys!!! :(
So life hasn't been the kindest to me so far. It's okay though, because guess what!? A rescue group called For the Love of Strays has offered to claim me as their own!!
Even though I am a Pibble and HW positive! Boy I am one lucky pup!
It was so kind of them to tag me, but as all rescues are, they are stretched out pretty thin.
The treatment for my heartworm is going to be expensive as well as long and hard on my body.
I already have a foster family who fell in love with me after they saw a picture of me on Facebook (I mean, who WOULDN'T love this face, right!?) and they promised to keep me safe and happy and LOVED!! But as I was saying, the treatment is going to be tough, both financially (for the rescue group) and physically (for me).
If you can find it in your heart to donate for my treatment costs, I would be soooooooo grateful!
Oh! Oh!! If you can donate and if I ever see you, I promise to give you lots of puppy kisses in return! Is that a good deal or what??
Every bit counts, and I would forever be so thankful.
Everyone says that I deserve to have a happy and healthy life, and I would like to believe them. I hope you feel the same too and give me a boost to get me on the path to love and a furever family!
