Help Kathy Cissell and her family

Kathy Cissell is a beautiful 47-year-old woman, a loving wife to Jason Cissell and dedicated mother to their two young daughters. She has a family who loves her and she is a friend to many.

On September 15, 2016, Kathy was out to dinner with co-workers. It seemed to be a day like any other day until Kathy began to exhibit signs of a stroke. Things get serious very quickly and after a call to 911, she was rushed to the emergency room where tests confirmed both a stroke and an aneurysm. Thus began the nightmare that is now just beginning for Kathy and her family.

Kathy’s stroke and aneurysm were caused by a serious condition called Arteriovenous Malformation or for short AVM. Most people have not heard of this rare condition because it affects less than 1% of the population. Please click the link at the bottom of this page to read more about AVM

Kathy’s family was notified that she had not one but two AVMs, in her brain and they need to be surgical repaired. The stroke has complicated the situation. Kathy suddenly is fighting for her life, and the Cissell family’s life has been turned upside down in an instant.

Kathy is showing some early signs of progress. She is a woman with strength and purpose and she is a fighter! She has been stabilized, but her journey is just beginning. And there’s a long road ahead for the Cissell Family as well – continued hospitalization and rehab for Kathy, loss of work for both her and Jason, medical bills, household help for the children, and all of the other painful costs that come with an unexpected tragedy like this one.

Jason and Kathy are proud people and a Go Fund Me page wouldn’t be something they would ask for, but we also know that when someone you care about goes through something this tragic, we all want to find a way to help!
