Dear Friends,
As many of you know my friend Mary Kenny was involved in a horrific motor vehicle accident two weeks ago. She was airlifted to St Josephs Trauma Center to be treated for multiple broken and fractured bones. Mary has underwent two major surgeries, the first the night of the accident to stabilize and the second last Sunday.
Mary and her family appreciate all of the well wishes and the support of our community. They would also like to thank all the dedicated members of the Verona Police,Verona Fire and Verona Rescue squad, Verona Public Works, Essex County Sheriff’s Office and the Cedar Grove Fire and Police Department members who all helped to save her life.
Mary was discharged this Monday to enter Kessler Rehabilitation Institute to undergo acute rehabilitation, the first stages of her long recovery process. We are not sure how long she will be there as it is too soon to predict at this time. What I do know is that she will be out of work for months with no income, their family automobile is gone and the medical bills will be extreme.
My husband and I have both lived in Verona our entire lives. One of the many reasons we are still living here is for the sense of community that still stands in our little town. The outpouring of support and love that is always seen in times of need is one of the truly outstanding elements that the Verona community possesses. We have witnessed tough times in our community and have seen how we all seem to pitch in when there is a need. I am hopeful you will join me in helping this family in their time of need with your support.
I have set up this donation site to help the Kenny family with monetary donations that will assist with the many medical bills they will receive that insurance will not cover. If donating on a website is not an option and you would still like to donate something a suggestion of FoodTown gift cards would be incredibly appreciated as well. One last thing, Mary has already let me know that any monies collected that are not needed for medical bills or to sustain their home while incapacitated the family will be paying it forward. If I did not state this, Mary would not agree to let me do this collection!
