On 9/17/16 our dear friend Brittany's water broke at 22 weeks of pregnancy, and she was rushed to the emergency room. Brittany was carrying twins, and her daughter’s amniotic sac had ruptured. Brittany was hospitalized for 3 days on IV antibiotics and was told that her baby girl may not survive. She was sent home on oral antibiotics and told to return to the hospital in a week where she would stay for the remainder of her pregnancy. Not knowing whether her babies would survive, all that Brittany and her husband Leon could do was pray. On 9/28 she went into preterm labor and had an emergency c-section at 23 weeks gestation. Painfully, their daughter passed away that evening. Their beautiful son Khairi is fighting for his life in the NICU, and Brittany is hospitalized on a cardiac unit with a life threatening condition.
