A Service Dog For Liam!

My amazing son Liam is 5 years old and was diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder at the age of 4, as well as Apraxia of Speech.
He has come so far since his diagnoses, especially in regards to his speech and we are all so proud of him!
We have been on a year and a half long journey to find Li a service dog to help him in his daily life, especially now that he has started kindergarten this past month! While he is the most awesome boy I know, autism does limit him. The sensory overload from loud noises at school make it hard for him to process his own thoughts.
Going out to places like stores and restaurants usually result in a meltdown due to his anxiety rising because every sense he has is overwhelmed.
Liam's number one defence mechanism is to run away to distance himself from the chaos he feels and since it is just him and I, this is a large safety concern for me.
Having a service dog would help him stay calm during these and would help me keep him safe. I would do anything to help make his life easier to live and this would be amazing for him.
A wonderful group at sdwr.org have reviewed our application for an autism service dog and all we have to do is raise the funds to cover the trainers airfare and room and board. It is a 12-18 month process and the trainer comes every 90-100 days for 4 days at a time to train with us.
The company is located in Virginia and round trip flights from there to PEI run about $1000 for the 4 day trip and 4 nights in the hotel is $480-500. All together it equals out to $10,000.
If you could help out in anyway possible to get this little boy a furry friend that will help him live his life more comfortably, we would be forever grateful!
