First off, thank you for visiting my GoFundMe page! That in itself means a lot to me.
For those of you who don't know me personally, I am Laurie Lawless, an enthusiastic dog lover who has sincerly dedicated the last 7 years of her life to working with dogs and their owners in various capacities. After obtaining a four year old Boxer from a friend of a friend when I was 20 years old, I quickly learned that he had people aggression issues, major separation anxiety and among a ton of other fun little "quirks."
Needless to say, I had to do a lot of learning really quickly about dogs and what made them tick. Charlie sparked an endless journey for me. In persuit of trying to figure out his, um, "quirks," I started to really engage myself in education about dogs, which opened up my eyes to the entire dog world. In my junior year of college I obtained ajob at a local dog kennel and my career began from there.
Today, I am asking for money to help me officially launch my dog trainingbusiness in Burlington, Vermont.
For those of you who do know me personally, you know I've worked very hard to get to where I am, and you know I love you and appriciate all of you for your help and assistance along the way. The past two years have been a struggle for me. The past year particularly I have been to places mentally I never thought I would go. My world was rocked, I have struggled to put one foot in front of the other getting all of the the pieces of my life back together. I moved to Vermont because it is the most beautiful place I have ever been and when I first visited here it brought me a true feeling of peace. The journey here has allowed me to do a ton of soul searching. For the first time in a long time, I'm actually now able to set goals for myself, picture a long term plan and pursue my idea of happiness!
My new dog training and dog walking business, Dogs Rock! Vermont, LLC is meant to inspire dog owners to cherish, love and understand their dogs. Happy dogs stay in homes. It is my goal as a dog trainer and caretaker to keep as many dogs out of the shelter system as possible and to use my extensive knowledge in dog body langauge and behavior to teach dog owners how to build a long lasting bond with their dog.
Your donations to helping me lauching this business means the WORLD to me. And because I know you all love dogs as much as I do, for every $20 earned from my campaign, I will donate a FREE training session to a shelter dog (my favorites) in need and promote them via my social media for adoption.
