Frayed Fabric documentary
My name is Devan T. Penegar. I'm part of RAINN's Speakers Bureau and director of the documentary Frayed Fabric. This campaign is to raise money for Frayed Fabric 's post-production. Specifically sound mixing and preparing for distribution. Everything so far has been paid for out of pocket.
Frayed Fabric is a documentary which aims to chip away at the stigma sexual assault survivors face. Each survivor has their own chapter in the film and sits down with my producer Camille Dalke to have raw heartfelt conversations about about trauma and PTSD.
For 11 years I didn't tell a soul that I was raped. I was too afraid and ashamed to even utter the words. And that silence nearly destroyed my life. I don't want anyone else to go through that and I hope this film inspires other survivors to open up to someone and have these cathartic conversations.
I want to be as transparent as possible: There isn't much I can offer in terms of rewards for helping this project out financially but I do believe with all my heart that this (no budget mostly DIY project) film will change lives. It has already had results in that regard with a couple chapters I test screened (I edit as we film).
$1 donations will be VERY much appreciated. Every little bit helps. Below are the donation levels which come with rewards.
Contribution rewards:
$5 - an early look at the film's opening sequence after editing wraps
$10 - a digital download of the film before it is fully released to the public
$50 - a "special thanks to" in the credits
$100 - a "creative consultant" credit with the option to give feedback on rough cuts during the editing process (and credited on IMDb)
