We are the staff at a small animal practice that has grown to love this very sweet Blue Nose Pit Bull. She is a precious soul named Ruby. Here is some of her story…
Miss Ruby has Coccidioidomycosis commonly known as Valley Fever. This fungus has affected Miss Ruby neurologically and causes her to have Grand Mal Seizures. Her seizures are now at a point where medications aren’t able to control the many "break through seizures," she has once to twice weekly. Last night Miss Ruby experienced a cluster of Grand Mal break through seizures; she had 16 seizures in less than a 2 hour time frame. Before we can change her medications or have any additional medications added to her daily routine; Miss Ruby will need to have a visit with the neurologist. Including having an MRI and CT Scan.
Not only does Miss Ruby have Valley Fever with neurological side effects she was also diagnosed with Pulmonary Arterial Hypertension (PAH). When Ruby has a seizure it puts a tension and strain on her heart muscles.
Ruby is only 2 years old and is the best friend to 3 wonderful young children that are scared to lose her, and have seen her physically held hostage by her seizures. Our hope is that the neurologist will be able to help control Miss Ruby’s seizures, and take the physical pressure off her heart.
Miss Ruby’s Family does not know we have put this GoFund me account together for her. We are hoping to raise enough money as a Pay-It-Forward to help this beautiful animal stay with her family that loves her very much, and can continue to bring them love and friendship for long happy life.
