Harvey's Hut Rebuild! by WCCSC

As many of you are aware, Harvey's Hut has very recently, and very unfortunately burned to the ground. Harvey's Hut has served the Whitehorse Cross Country Ski community for an amazing 35 years. The hut was build in memoriam of Bruce Harvey, one of our community's past and most upstanding members.
Most of us who have spend time on the Whitehorse Ski trails have at least one cherished memory at Harvey's Hut. As kids it may have been a respite from the cold, a sign of hot chocolate to come, or a great starting point for capture the flag. It has also served as the perfect meeting place to catch up with friends by the fire, the perfect viewpoint point overthe creek below, a cozy place to end a new years eve ski adventure, or simply a sign that "hurray, you've got the first 4k of your ski under your belt!"
Now the Whitehorse Cross Country Ski Club hopes that you will help rebuild this beloved piece of our history for generations of skiers to come. In order to bring the hut site to its former glory, we will need to start from the ground up. The funds raised through this campaign will be used to clear the space following the burn and purchase materials for the construction of a new, solid Harvey's Hut. Any additional funds raised through this campaign will go toward the revitalization of the other huts on our ski trails. Though we don't expect to break ground on the new construction until spring, we need to prepare the site and set up a temporary shelter as soon as possible. The snow isn't far behind!
WCCSC would also love do know if you have time and skills that you would be interested in dedicating to the site clearing, preparation, and eventual rebuilding.
