KEEPING TANK SAFE

Donation protected

This is Tank. I found him out in the middle of nowhere. He looked scared and confused hanging around the center of a country road that had no houses. I assumed he was a drop-off. The few cars that came by drove around him.  I pulled over to coax him out of the road but he wouldn't come. It was winter and I wasn't leaving without him.  After about 10 minutes of begging by baby talking him, he finally wagged his tail a little and scampered to me...he  gave me lots of sloppy puppy kisses!  I realized he had broken ribs so I brought him home and nursed him back to health. He was so grateful! a lover. Nobody had claimed him and we'd become attached anyway.  Last Saturday, September 24th 2016, Tank got loose and wandered into our neighbors driveway. My daughters were headed to retrieve him when we heard a POP!  Next thing we knew, Tank was running back up our driveway with a gunshot wound to his head. There was blood everywhere and the children were screaming!! We loaded him up and took him to see Dr. Beebe at Lakeview animal hospital. Tank was very lucky to live! The doctor determined the bullet entered the back of Tank's head/neck and exited under his eye. Tank had been shot from BEHIND!!!  His eye was spared. We are asking for your help with Tank's medical bills.... he is heading to Michigan State University Veterinary Hospital next. Also there needs to be a better containment system installed for Tank so he NEVER gets loose again! His nickname is Tankini The Great... he is a dog Houdini when it comes to chain link. In ground fencing alone worries me as there is NO room for error in a situation like this!! I am thinking he needs stockade fencing and maybe even inground with it (open to suggestions). He has been through enough and had a pretty rough start in life. Why he still loves humans SO much I will never understand...   He deserves to live a long and happy life in safety with his family where nobody can hurt him again! Originally we were looking to rehome Tanky for his safety due to the situation and then this idea was presented to us. Out of over 150,000 shares that Tank's story has received, many people have expressed how important they feel it is for Tank not to lose his loving family and home after all he has been through and we couldn't agree more!!!

WE LOVE THIS BOY AND WILL KEEP FIGHTING FOR HIM UNTIL THERE IS JUSTICE!

There was NO livestock Involved the day Tank was shot at the end of The  neighbors driveway and there NEVER has been!!! A conveinent story is now being told after the fact. A story that hadn't even been mentioned to the police.  Nor is there a police report stating that Tank has EVER even been on their property prior to this day!!!  We have had large dogs in the past and this neighbor has called the police on our dogs for laying in OUR OWN YARD!The officer had to explain to the neighbor that the dogs have a right to their own property. We were warned that he had a fear of large dogs and he would shoot if they came near. This was just the beginning of a long nightmare that unfortunately ended with a bullet in the back of Tank's head.

Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for the HUGE outpouring of love, compassion and genuine concern you have all expressed for Tank. You have shown us that there are still REALLY good people left in this world.
And our beautiful boy says "TANK" You!!
