Nikki's Recovery Fund

On wednesday 14 September @ 6am 2016 Nikki experienced a life changing car accident resulting in her world being turned upside down .Nikki was travelling to work employed as permanent  Woolclasser for S&J Blake shearing contractors located in  rural wheatbelt town of Koorda.

The crash was a single vehicle rollover with Nikki the only person in the car.  The accident occurred on sunrise, Nikkis view was compromised by the glaring sun & she subsequently failed to negotiate a bend. Without time for braking her car left the road, hit a concrete colvert then flipped. The vehicle  rolled 30mtrs into thick shrubland.

To make matters worse the remaining wreck of car wasn't visible from mainroad. With no phone reception Nikki  managed to get out of the car and crawl to the road without the use of her legs, she made a flag from a towel (used as a leg tourniquet) & waved  down a passing car,which helped assist.
Emergency Services arrived on scene & Nikki was airlifted to Royal Perth trauma unit.

The seriousness of this accident has resulted in Nikki being paralyzed from the waist down. The doctors have told her this paralysis is most likely to be permanent.

last week Nikki was relocated to  W.A Rehabilitation Spinal Unit at Fiona Stanley hospital to undergo further treatments.

Currently  restricted from movement due to her back brace & her right leg in a splint. She has also suffered injuries to her femur, potela & knee, all fractured into dozens of pieces. Emergency spine and knee surgery were performed at Royal Perth trauma unit the day after she was airlifted.

During her long recovery and extended rehab, Nikki will be without any compensation for her lost income. Medical costs, household bills, general & living expenses, schooling and more will still need to be paid during this very difficult time.

Those lucky enough to know Nikki understand what a unique individual she is,Nikki lives life in the moment and can't help but impact people with her positive personality & her great sense of humour . She doesn't think twice about helping others, it's just who she is.Nikki strength & resilience to carry on is motivated by her beautiful daughter Zeva.

Despite enduring pain and obstacles that noone should have to face during their lifetime Nikki has not asked for this help.
