Help Us Back Home

Hello, my name's Alex! I started this campaign to help four friends of mine get back home. Carla and Jason have been together five years, and both suffer from mental illness, and the quality of care where they live right now is severely lacking. They moved here originally to be close to Jason's family, but that didn't work out. Being in this environment has been difficult for them, but they've been doing the best they can. While here, they've struggled not just with the symptoms of bi-polar and schizophrenia, but with things like homelessness in the past, and find themselves missing their supportive friends and the access to mental health services they had back home.

They live in an apartment with two other friends who they are wanting to relocate with: Cap (who does fundraising walks for the VFW and for this campaign) and his fiance Mel, who he intends to marry once they get back West. I am also helping out, as I have a car and am willing to drive them out to Washington once we can get enough money together to make it possible.

I felt it would be a really nice thing to help all of them out so they can feel less stressed, more happy and secure, and speed along the process of getting back to a place where they can receive the care they need, in the area they originally met and fell in love with.
