KY Korean Vet Needs Another Victory
Donation protected
Our fathers name is Caleb and he's 85 years old. He has never ever been in the hospital in his life. He was just told by the VA he has stage four cancer in his kidneys and only has close to six months to live. My father fought in the Korean War in 1952. He was a sergeant on a tank battalion right on the front lines. Dad has told so many stories about seeing so many dead soldiers and it being so cold and scary. But nothing will compare to being told you have cancer. The VA has told our dad that they have done all they can do. Dad was sent home with Homecare by his four children and his wife. Fortunately we found out about the Browns cancer center in Louisville Kentucky. They have a new treatment that can prolong my dad's life possibly for two more years. They contacted the VA to submit forms in order for the VA to assist in paying for his treatments . VA chose not to assist In helping with payment. Luckily my dad has Medicare that pays 80%. Dad has to go every two weeks and have an IV put into his arm for approximately one hour. My parents live 2 1/2 hours from Louisville Kentucky. Brown Cancer Center is working with us to try as hard as they can to get his payment as low as possible. Dad starts treatment in two weeks. Treatments cost $26,000 each. As of now these treatments every two weeks will cost us $5400. If Dad lives for two years this is what will be paying for every two weeks. We love our dad more than life and we will do anything to raise money and help him live as long as we can can. If it's just a dollar from each individual that could add up. Please donate if you can, but if you can't then all we ask is for your prayers for our Dad. God Bless!!!!!!
