Net's Medical Fund

I met this lovely family when their midwife from Powell River put out a call for someone in Nanaimo to help with their care. They had been planning a homebirth in Powell River but unfortunately Net developed some serious complications and needed to be transferred urgently to a Level 2 hospital. She arrived in Nanaimo and instead of the planned induction of labour ended up with a crash C. Section because there were signs indicating that her baby was in trouble. The surgery was done and Sophia was born and did well. The next day Net was feeling very unwell and turned out to have some internal bleeding which required a return to the OR. Luckily both baby and mom are now well and are heading home to Powell River.
Net and her husband Mark are from the Phillipines. They met in Kuwait where they were both working for McDonalds. When the opportunity arose to come to Canada in 2013 on temporary worker's visas to work at McDonalds here. Net went to Lethbridge and Mark to Powell River. With the downturn in Alberta Net lost her temporary workers visa and went to live with Mark in B.C. They have applied for permanent residency status but unfotunately as a visitor only Net has no health care coverage. This unexpexted complicated delivery is going to be very expensive for them.
This is an appeal for funds to help pay for Net's healthcare costs. Net needs to be spending her time healing from back to back major surguries and looking after her beautiful daughter Sophie.
