Mountain View HS Water Polo

Donation protected
Water polo has been called "the most physically demanding and mentally challenging of all sports", yet it also has one of the lowest injury rates. Over the past few years the sport has "exploded" in the Central Oregon area, including the first ever State Championship (in a 40-year history of Oregon HS water polo) from a team East of the Cascades, & it was the Mountain View Cougars who earned that honor in 2013. Last year both the boys and girls MV Cougars teams represented in the State Championship game with the boys team winning that game in spectacular fashion to add another state championship title for the school & the girls team going into overtime after a 9-9 tie at the end of regulation to decide the outcome. Despite the excitement & growth of this incredible sport it is still not sanctioned by the OSAA (the governing body & revenue source for HS sports in the state of Oregon). What does this mean? It means that High School water polo teams have to
raise their own funds to cover all of their expenses; pool time fees, refereeing official fees, cost of equipment (balls, caps, goal cages) travel expenses, tournament fees & the like. In addition, the coaches, who spend endless hours, strategizing, attending practices, & traveling to games and tournaments are all volunteer positions who do not receive any payment for their valuable time. These efforts take time and dollars.

What we're rasining money for: We are rasing money for the Mountain View High School Girls and Boys Water polo team with the goal in mind to give them better resources and equipment.
How your money will be used/ cost covering: Specific figures include,
500$ for a much needed second set of caps
150$ for new balls
950$ West Metro Tournament
500$ Curtis Tournament
400$ Madras Tournament
$1500 Travel expenses and reimbursement for coaches
How soon we need the funds: We are in need of financial support immediately. Tournament fees are due, and fresh equipment is needed.
Why this means so much to the program: Your donations will continue to build into the water polo community in Central Oregon. Mountain View High School is a program that aims for championships and with proper funding and money managing, there will no longer be any worry over having enough of what the program specifically needs to continue to grow and dominate.
Your help will go a long way, surely a lot further than just the immediate donation. You will be a critical part of creating a lasting impact into Mountain View High School and the players lives.
