Paid! RR Medical 9/2016

Hi Angels--

We are:

A special needs dog sanctuary that gives a permanent home to those who have been harmed and cannot get better but still have beautiful souls inside broken bodies.  We want: to spiritually make things right with these animals, for much of the damages were done by humans.  Fixing their bodies and their spirits is our goal...

The Need:

Just a little fundraiser to pay for the meds and medical supplies that are due and/or needed right NOW--like this week...

From trying to keep Bellie (in photo) from losing her front paws due to brittle bone disease and being left with her sister with broken front legs--and having had many surgeries--to worming, to meds for congestive heart failure,  chronic (life-time) respiratory complications, serious arthritis/meds needed by three dogs from hip issues to eye meds to bandages, etc.

Hopefully, angels can help with this need sooner than later. These are the kind of things that sponsors would help with but until we have the sponsors we need, I need to ask for help.

As you know--or maybe you don't--Mike, our co-founder and who was our primary benefactor--now has a fast-progressing, terminal illness of early-onset Lewy Body Dementia.  You can read lots more on his "page": https://www.gofundme.com/leveledbylewybody.  He has not been able to be stabilized yet and so I have to be a 24/7 acute caregiver and doggie nanny/medic, cannot leave but for an hour or so--and I have to take him with me always--and cannot concentrate on anything else or my own mind with crack up!

Yes, he has finally been given disability BUT it is 60% of his base salary only--excluding overtime--special projects, bonuses, and paid insurance.  Upon founding of the Rescue Ranch, we lived at 100% to afford it--never getting more than food (eating at home very simply) and medical needs.  Saving lives and preserving the best quality of life were the only things that mattered.

Now, we lose $2000 a month off the top for insurances, and after only the mortgage, taxes, electric and water, there is zero left.  So for us ourselves to even eat, we have to not pay something! This cannot go on forever but right now, changing things, like moving, will cause Mike to die even sooner his docs told me due to the disorientation and confusiong that would expedite the terminal dementia.

Once the situation changes--whether through stabilization, institutionalization (hopefully not) or gulp, worse, then I can worry about working from home. Right now, I have a hard time just getting in some sleep.

So Angels, if you are able, I am sure God will bless you as He has blessed us.  It doesn't look that way with all of the hardships that we have had to encounter in the past five or six years but truly, our faith is stronger, our outlook is not on the immediate but on the forever, our lives are better off for we have met people and animals that we would have never ever crossed paths with.

Thank you Angels for your help.  If you are interested in keeping up with the Rescue Ranch go to my blog: http://www.firststop-laststop.com/blog.html   You can also look at some of the dogs who need sponsors or see the list of gift cards/e-cards that would really help at the bottom of this page: http://www.firststop-laststop.com/sponsorherdmember.html

Thank you so very much for your continued kindness and compassion.  I have given away everything I can to help animals and people my entire life, since I've been about 12.  Material things never meant much to me. My/our job/income always paid the conservative rent and basic bills and then as much as possible always went to help a rescue, take in rescues, homeless people, vets, mother and children who were abused and homeless, homeless people, more--so much more.  Our retirement comfort lay in the precious, "God bless you's" that we accummulated over the years.  They are truly forevers.

I believe that we can't take material things with us and personally,  I would be ashamed of myself to open a closet filled with shoes or expensive clothes, etc.  when those resources could have been used to help someone else or animals in need.

In fact, the RR property was chosen with rescuing already in progress. Otherwise, Mike and I would have preferred to be in a one bedroom city apartment--no car or pooper-scooper needed--but that would not have let us accomplish our goals and hearts desires to do good every day, in some way.  No one has to know but Him...

Thank you again and again.

Humbly grateful,
Jane, Mike and the Rescue Ranch Herd
