On the 14th of September 2016, our two year old daughter Kennedy was taken to the hospital as x-rays revealed she had an enlarged heart and kidney. Immediately Kennedy was transported to the University of Maryland Medical Center to undergo further tests which discovered fluid around her heart and within her lungs.
Our brave child had to have surgery to drain the fluid and unfortunately it was discovered that the root cause is a cancerous tumor on her heart. Yolk Sac germ cell cancer is the medical term, and it is typically found in young children. Kennedy must undergo four months of chemotherapy, in hopes to shrink the tumor, and surgery to remove it from her heart.
We are here today asking for your dire help in raising funds to help support our family while out of work on unpaid family medical leave.
