Coming Home to Me retreat

Maiya Kenny is the owner of Healing Steps, Wellness Centre and the facilitator of the Coming Home to Me! retreat (a retreat for breast cancer survivors)

She is seeking funding for the Coming Home To Me Retreat on October 28-30 at Jack’s Corner Retreat, Kangaroo Valley, to support breast cancer survivors to regain their life.

As a trained holistic counselor and personal development course facilitator, I’ve previously conducted retreats that have allowed participants to regain confidence as they move through to the next stage in their life.

Her motivation for hosting the Coming Home To Me Retreat stemmed from a past client who wasn’t able to attend one of my retreats due to going through chemo treatment. They spoke about the need for a dedicated breast cancer survivor retreat, because metaphysically breast cancer is about nurturing everyone else to the exclusion of self. She was excited about the prospect of shining a light on women who need to be focusing on self the most. Sadly, she is now no longer with us.

Maiya believes these women have already been through enough, having to give up work, going through financial hardship and having to rely on others. Therefore, she'd like to offer them the three-day retreat as time out from their lives to focus on themselves, to be nurtured in an environment that is not related to anything medical and give them the opportunity to connect with nature.

For most people who fit this description, they don’t have the funds to take part. Therefore, it would be greatly appreciated if you could make a contribution to the costs associated with the retreat.

These include:

- Accommodation for the 12 women

- Maiya's time to deliver the three-day course

- Sound healing therapist

This will be $4000.

Past students have also volunteered their time to help throughout the retreat.

This retreat will allow the participants to bring the pieces of themselves back together and resume their role in the family.

A target of $2,000 needs to be reached by October 20 to cover booking expenses.

Thank you for taking the time to read this and, even if a donation isn't possible, it would be gratefully appreciated if you could share this with your social media network.
