Stavale Family Support Fund

As many of you know, Meghan was recently diagnosed with Leukemia secondary from the chemotherapy that she received for her brain cancer treatment, something that occurs to approximately 2% of patients treated for cancer. On September 7th she had a bone marrow biopsy done which confirmed the diagnosis of Chronic Myelononocytic Leukemia (CMML).

Meghan will begin treatment on January 5th at U of M, which includes chemotherapy followed by a bone marrow transplant. After the transplant, Meghan will be in isolation for at least five weeks,  and will then have an assigned caretaker at home for the next 100 days. It will be a year before she can return to work.

Those of you who know Meghan know she is a fighter; however, no one fights alone. The treatment and recovery process will require help from the entire family, which means time off from work for them as well. Your generous donations will be used to offset this and other costs associated with treatment.

Your thoughts, prayers, and donations are greatly appreciated! The Stavale family is incredibly thankful for the outpouring of love and support. You can follow Meghan's progress on her CaringBridge  site.
