My Leo's Knee Repair Surgery

Donation protected
My sweet Leo is an 88 lb. Pit/Great Dane Mix who has been in my life for over two years now. He is the biggest, sweetest gentle giant around and up until recently I have not had any problems with him.

Unfortunately, about a few months ago he started limping with what I thought was just simple joint pain and is now lame on his back left leg. Now a couple months and multiple doctors later, I am struggling to accept that Leo needs CCL repair surgery.

The CCL is one of the most common injuries to a dog’s knee and is very similar to a human’s ACL. In Leo’s case, his ligament is torn along with a luxating kneecap- which means it is sliding back and forth. This was all such shocking news for me, due to the fact that Leo is the biggest couch potato ever…

The surgery Leo is in need of due to his weight is a Tibial Plateau Leveling Osteotomy (TPLO) which is the most advanced, and least invasive surgery. This surgery begins around $2500-3000, not including bloodwork, anesthesia, X-rays, post operative check-ups, rehab…etc.

With this being my last semester in school and working 2 jobs to prevent student loans, I am humbly and simply just asking for help from this emotional and financial hardship. Leo still has a giant smile on his face through out all of this, but the longer I wait the higher possibility of his other leg rupturing and the more permanent damage is happening.

I will be eternally grateful and thankful for any donations and anything above the cost of his surgery will be donated to Greater Pet Alliance of Orlando.

While a donation is not necessary but a simple share goes along way.

Thank you in advanced my friends for all your support
