Mike's Medical Bills

For many months Mike Szillagyi has been experiencing severe pain along with decreased mobility.   He has had difficulty with daily tasks like climbing stairs and walking a block to catch the bus he takes to work every day.  Simple tasks like these have even caused him to unexpectedly trip and fall.  This has led to ongoing doctor’s appointments, accompanying tests, including an MRI, and a specialty visit to a neurologist who diagnosed Mike with peripheral neuropathy, spinal stenosis and two bulging discs. 

Peripheral neuropathy is a nerve condition wherein the nerves that send messages from the brain to the rest of the body become damaged.  It cannot be cured but it can be treated and Mike’s regimen has already included two spinal steroid shots, physical therapy and massage therapy.  His treatment will be ongoing and like most of us, he could use some extra support paying for the unexpected medical expenses.

Most of us know Mike as a funny, truly unique person who sees the humor and beauty in the everyday activities that pass the rest of us by.  He’s passionate about music, movies, his cats, and, of course, Stephen Sondheim.  Mike recently posted a quote from Follies: “Me, I like to live . . . me, I like to laugh . . . me, I like to love.”  Let’s help support this kind man so he can get back to living the sentiment of that lyric.  Any donation, no matter the amount, is greatly appreciated.
