Meredith and Family Fund

My friend Meredith Winn was diagnosed with chondrosarcoma in July 2016, a rare bone cancer that is not receptive to chemo or radiation. She had a limb salvaging surgery on August 24th which saved her leg but removed a section of her pelvis along with the bone tumor in her thigh. As of September 1st her margins are clean and pathology states "officially cancer free".

Recovery is long but she has a great orthopedic oncologist who specializes in sarcomas at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center who will continue to see her for scans and tests (every three months) to make sure she remains cancer free. She'll be followed by these specialists for the next ten years.

At this time, Meredith has visiting nurses and physical therapists to help with her recovery as she learns to get back to daily activities like walking, bathing, and eventually driving. Meredith has been unable to work since August and is planning for future medical and travel expenses to and from this hospital that is 2.5 hours away from where she lives.

Money raised here will ease the burden on her family as they face the expenses that accumulate with this frequent travel, future medical bills, physical therapy and the equipment needed for recovery.
