Rent and car payments unable to pay

My husband worked for Zappos.com and last year took a buyout that was offered to him for "older" employees. He has been diagnosed with very low vita D defficiency and also has a heart problem, so unable to work. I work for a retail business and only bring home between 280 and 290 per week. I am unable to pay our rent or make a car payment. Late on  the car this month and am scared that we'll lose the car. Also, we have 2 beautiful young cats that neither he nor I want too lose, they are way too precious to us. We've been able to continue with a little bit of help from one of his 4 daughters, but they have bills to pay also.
All we need is to get through until our lease comes up next March, then we should be able to move to an apt that costs in rent a lot less then now.
Joe worked for United Airlines for 20 years and unfortunately, his lovely exwife got half of his retirement from there.
Tell you the truth, he's 59 and I'm 52, it's hard to get another job for myself and because of his age and physical abilities, hard for him since he also gets vertigo fairly often.
Before I go any farther, I want to thank anyone and everyone who helps us out.
Our rent is due on the 4th of every month, car payment is due by the 10th, very late this month.
This is very embarrassing to ask people I don't know for money. I appreciate it very much if your willing to do anything to help us out.
I wake up crying somethimes because I have a bad feeling that I'm going to lose my "kids" (cats), We love them so much and I can't see taking them to a shelter or having to give them to a friend. I'd be shattered.
