High School Students Hunt For A Cure

Donation protected
Last year, my partner Caleb Charette and I travelled to Montreal, QC, for the annual Canada-Wide Science Festival (CWSF). We're both grade 10 students at West Ferris Secondary School in North Bay, Ontario. We both strive to be surgeons of different trade and have a strong passion for biology and medicine. During our trip to Montreal, we were accompanied by a delegate who became a close friend. She made our trip as much about fun as it was about learning, and helped move our project "A Synthetic 3-D Printed Heart" across boundaries. She was diagnosed earlier this year with Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma and is currently being treated. The reason we need funding is for our new project that involves genome editing. We can use the technology known as CRISPR/cas9, to do research on malignant cells and ultimately help her out. This is our way of repaying her and our best chance to get her back on the CWSF team for 2017. This new technology will not only treat Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma; but also any diseases related to genetic mutation. We want to use this treatment to help our friend and millions of others, but unfortunately, can't due to cost. Any donation will be greatly appreciated, and will go to a good cause.
