Meet Ashley-
Ashley is a 31 year old single mom of an energetic 4 year old Boy. Ashley recently had to move back in with her parents. She had a seizure with subsequent weakness and trembling on her right side. On August 16th she was diagnosed with A.L.S. better known as “Lou Gehrig’s Disease”, an extremely debilitating and deadly disease. Since the diagnosis her muscle loss is extreme, she must use a walker (eventually a wheelchair) and cannot stand up from a sitting position without someone picking her to stand her to her feet. Ashley is unable to “chase after”, and play with her son as she loved to do.
Her mother works 40+ hours a week so her daily “caretaker” falls on the shoulder of her father who himself was diagnosed in 2006 with Gillian Barre disease and subsequent-diabetes-kidney failure (dialysis 4X a day) “drop foot” and sever neuropathy of the legs. He can barely walk himself, but all 3 push through on a daily basis.
This fund is being set up by friends and family to help with the medical expenses of Ashley’s care-as well as some help to offset the burial expenses for Ashley. Any funds over and above the target amount will go to help provide for her 4 years old son.
