Chad's Medical Fund Past and Future

Donation protected
Hello, my name is Chad.  As many of you know, I haven't been able to work since my surgery to remove a brain tumer a little over a year and a half ago.  Since then my recovery has been slow and rough.  My many side effects from the tumor and surgery have made it so I can't return to my job that I had for 20+ years.  My wife, Valerie has had to work 50+ hours a week just to try to make up from what we lost when I stopped working.  Yes I receive long term disablility, but that and what Val is bringing in has been just enough to keep a roof over our heads and pay some of the bills.  Medical bills and ohter fees have been piling up for a while now.

I have applied for Social Security and have been denied twice.  I have since retaind a lawyer and I am waiting for a hearing to try to obtain SS.  However, the waiting list for a hearing is 14-18 months long and we are looking at next June or July before we are granted one. We have also applied to evey government assistance program we could think of, but have fallen through the 'cracks' and been denied for all of them.  Apparently with Val working to keep the house, we now make too much money.  We were told we could get a divorce or Val needed to get phased out of her job in order for use to reduce our income and qualify.  What a joke!
I know you have heard the expression 'when it rains, it pours', well I'm here to tell you that for us nothing could be more true.  We found out in July that I had lost my insurance back in May.  There were several proceedurs and doctors appointment that I had between May and July, and I now have been billed to entire amount of each of those visits and appointments.

Now, I'm am currently under the care of seven doctors who are working togther to help me make a recovery.  The problem is, I now can't afford to go to these appointments any longer and with another surgery possible down the road, the future is frightening for us. I have had to reschedule or cancel appointments as we try to find affordable insurance.  I was denied medicaid as well.

Here is where I plead for your help.  Any donation at all helps us pay medical bills past and future, not just for me but also my wife and kids should they need to be seen. I'm ashamed to be asking for help, but then I look at my family and feel the love we have for one another, I would do anything to help my family, wouldn't you?  I'll even swallow my pride and relize that we need your help.

If you choose not to donate or you don't agree with the plan of action that our family had taken, that is totally fine and I will not think any less of you.  A couple of years ago I looked at these pages with skepticism as well.  I just asked that you don't hate on us or judge us as nobody knows what they will do when they are faced with such adversity.  Prayers are always needed and appreciated as well.

Thank You and God Bless
