Chad's MTC Medical Fund

Chad Jefferson has been diagnosed with a rare Thyroid Cancer called Medullary Thyroid Cancer. It is only found in 3% of all thyroid cancer patients. Unfortunately, mtc is not curable. Treatment is very unknown to what to do. So far what they have found is surgeries to remove the tumors and two trials. As of August 30,2019: Chad’s cancer has now spread to his spine, lungs, kidneys, pancreas and liver. Chad is stage four but is very optimistic despite the survival rate. He will have to endure many surgeries in his life. Chad had to quit his career due to the debilitating back pain in Feb 2019. In May 2019, the pain was getting so severe and his cancer moved to the pancreas. With that being said, he started to get pancreatitis and it almost was fatal. So with all our hope chad was selected to do a medical trial called LOXO-292 aka magic blue pills. In June 2019 he took the first round of pills and within one month he has had 26% of tumor reduction. His cancer numbers went from 20,000 to the 800ths. We are so humbly grateful for this. At this time chad has cobra insurance that we are no longer able to afford. It is $363. We are waiting for Medicare insurance to start March 2020. There is a financial assistant program we are applying for but it is taking some time to get approved. Due to our finances and income we only qualified for WIC. We were denied housing assistance, Medicaid for chad and food stamps. They do not consider the cost of terminal cancer a financial strain. We are living off of Chad’s disability and my coverage too. We would not be able to make life without this gofundme.
