We risked losing this invaluable artistic resource
in the capitol of California. My landlord had suddenly died, the building went up for sale, and basically I was unqualified to buy the building. All odds were against me. But I knew I had to fight for the dream. The dream of owning this amazing building. The dream of serving as a creative hub for artists. The dream for myself--living, working, staying in Oak Park. The dream that that these four walls would be a blessing for all of Sacramento and far beyond.
Your generous Go Fund Me contributions,
combined with my personal savings, combined with several private loans from wonderful friends willing to lend me their money enabled me to come up with the down payment for the building purchase. An angel investor miraculoulsy appeared at the last minute, put up her own money and helped back the loan. There were multiple offers on the table; she and I offered above the asking price, and our offer was accepted.
Every penny raised from the initial campaign
helped with the down payment, the closing costs, the inspection fees, attic insulation, a new roof and other costs associated with the the building purchase.
Every penny raised from the ongoing campaign
continues to support the upkeep, maintenance, repairs, and improvements to our 100+ year-old historic building in the heart of Oak Park.
Your ongoing contributions to this campaign help provide much needed support to keep the Patris Studio and Gallery moving forward -- providing and expanding art opportunities for the people of Sacramento, Northern California and far beyond.

The arts in general continue to be pushed out
by rising real estate prices and it's more important than ever to keep the gallery, studio and art school where people can connect with art, creativity and artistic camaraderie.
At Patris Studio and Art Gallery,
we've taken a dull, unattractive interior space and turned it into a thriving, vibrant art hub where artists of all levels and all walks of life come together for classes, life drawing/painting sessions, and art workshops. We continue to bring internationally acclaimed artists to teach workshops and help artists reach new levels of skill development. Local musicians gather to play music together in our gallery and community meetings occur here frequently. The studio and gallery is a vital part of the community and a heartfelt gem amidst this age of mass reproduction and mechanical automation.
An impossible situation has been turned around.
For me to save the studio and gallery on my own effort was unachievable. Through your support, and the support of others, an impossible situation has been turned around.
