Dorothy Ponti was an Art Teacher at Joyce Junior High School in Woburn, Massachusetts for 30 years and 5 years at Woburn High School. She is 87 years old and is currently Very Sick in a hospital down in Florida and she might not make it. She's had two serious bowel surgeries in less than two weeks and she's had a lot of bad complications.
Her only wish is that she can go back home to Massachusetts where she grew up, lived 90% of her life & where all her family & friends are.
Even if she doesn't make it back there alive, her burial plot and headstone is in Massachusetts. So, either way she needs to get there.
She's a very special lady, whom I have known over 50 years, and she has been through a lot medically in the past five years between heart attacks, strokes, numerous infections etc.
Dorothy's daughter, Debi, my best friend for over 50 years, has been her primary caregiver for the past five years through it all. Debi has MS and all the stress etc...is really doing a number on her health as well. Other than Debi's daughter, Alexis, who is almost 20 years old, Debi is all alone in Florida to make all the major/life altering decisions concerning her mother, Dorothy.
