Maribel's Medical Mission in Mexico

Hola! I am Maribel Diaz, new RN graduate from Pasadena City College, Pasadena Ca. I have always had a calling to help others in need. With the recent knowledge and skills that I have gained, I am in the perfect position to help people that have a medical need in San Cristobal de las Casas, Chiapas, Mexico. I have the opportunity to travel to Chiapas, Mexico on a medical mission with HELPING HANDS Medical Missions. In order for me to help others, I need help getting there first. I must pay my own airfare and all travel costs, which comes out to approximately $700. With any extra amount raised I will purchase items to take and share with the underserved locals like coloring books, crayons, small toys, rosaries, toothbrushes, medical supplies, otc meds, etc. The mission dates are from May 27, 2016 to June 4, 2016.

I would be sincerely grateful for any monetary help you can provide. I will not only use this experience to help serve the poor in this rural area but I will use it to become a more compassionate, caring and empathetic nurse so I can better serve our community.

HELPING HANDS Medical Missions is a non-profit organization that provides medical assistance in rural areas of developing countries. It offers its volunteers a transforming experience and the opportunity to share their faith, while selflessly serving the needs of others. The team will consist of medical professionals and volunteers from all areas of the United States, and Australia as well as translators and volunteers from Tuxtla.
