Minnie's College Support

Hello friends, family and people who have stumbled upon my page. My name is Minnie Chappell. I am 18 years old and live in San Diego, California. Up until a couple of weeks ago, I had planned to attend The University of Arizona, College of Fine Arts for photography. I was so excited, found the perfect roommate, visited the campus several times, and was ready to rush for Greek Life! I had packed up and was absolutely prepared to leave home and start my new life in Tucson.  At the very last minute my dream was shattered when I found out I would not be able to attend.  We did everything we could to secure financing but still came up short. I had no other choice but to reluctantly withdraw due to a lack of funding. This has been devastating and quite traumatic for me. I worked very hard throughout high school, both in school and out. I worked at a diner from 3:30p.m. until to 10:30 p.m. on school nights and still had massive hours of assignments and studying to finish. During my senior year, I also worked at a café saving money for college. I proudly ended this year with a 3.6 GPA and am beyond eager to start my college experience. I don’t want this to be the end of my journey, so I am asking for help. I need to afford tutoring and fees for the ACT and SAT so I can retest and start the college application process all over again for spring semester. There are application fees, campus tour fees, trips to the universities and tuition as well.  I also desperately need to obtain the right computer and camera equipment to support my personal goal to be a photojournalist. I am trying so hard to look at this experience as a new beginning, not the end of my dream that I’ve worked so hard and so long for.  I’m pounding the pavement and trying to get as many jobs as I can in order to save up and continue my dream for the college experience. I humbly realize I can’t do this by myself. Can you please help? It would mean the absolute world to me.
