Officer Schwartz Fundraiser
Donation protected
Officer Anton Schwartz served the communities of New Orleans and Mandeville for 39 years as a police officer. The last 20 years of his career were spent teaching the DARE program to children throughout the city of Mandeville. He was very passionate about the program and took pride in his job and helping children to make better decisions in life. I remember everytime we went somewhere in public, we always ran into at least 2 of his students and their families. Because of this passion, he was awarded DARE Officer of the year in the state of Louisiana in 1997! He also enjoyed giving his time volunteering as a coach in football, girls softball, and track. He truly enjoyed spending valuable time with his students at school and in their extra-curricular activities. He has been recently diagnosed with pancreatic cancer and has undergone a major operation, lengthy hospitalization, and rounds of chemo. A few of his fellow Mandeville Police Officers have asked me to start this page as a fundraiser to help cover his medical expenses. Even if you cannot contribute financially, please help pass this along to others, as he has touched many lives in the community. I feel as if my father truly served our community well and was able to help many children and teenagers along the way. I am very appreciative for anything we can raise to help him and my mom during this difficult time. Thank you so much!
