La Historia:
Mariella es una de las personas mas trabajadoras que conozco! Lleva trabajando en Ventolini 25 años como mesera con turnos de 14 horas, siempre con una sonrisa.
Hace unos años Mariella se casó, y hace 11 meses dio a luz a dos mellizos. Ella llevaba ahorrando toda la vida para poder comprar su propia casa, y hace 6 meses su sueño se hizo realidad. Encontró una casa en un barrio seguro al precio adecuado. Todo lo que ella soñaba estaba sucediendo, podría comprar su casa invirtiendo sus ahorros y solicitando un pequeño préstamo y así lo hizo.
En la primera lluvia el techo se le destruyó. Tuvo que salir de su casa y alquilar un cuarto donde vivir con sus hijos en el Jarillon, zona con problemas de pandillas, drogas y posibilidad de inundación.
Todos sus sueños se vinieron al piso, su esfuerzo, sus ahorros y la posibilidad de criar sus hijos en una zona segura se desvanecieron.
La Solución:
Ayudemos a reconstruir la casa de Mariella!
Un arquitecto local nos va a ayudar con su trabajo, lo que nos hace falta es la plata para los materiales y mano de obra. Tenemos estimado que el arreglo va costar $5,000 USD ($15.000.000).

The Story:
Coming from a low socio-economic level in a country like Colombia has many limitations. The majority of people, who are born poor, will stay that way no matter how hard they work in life. This limitation is due to a lack of education and oportunities.
Meet Mariella, she is one of the hardest working women I know! She has been in the same company for the past 25 years, giving it her all night and day always with a smile on her face. She works as a waitress with shifts of up to 14 hours a day.
A few years ago Mariella got married, and gave birth to two beautiful twin boys who are not even a year old. Mariella had been saving her entire life to be able to purchase her own home, and 6 months ago she made her dream come true. She found a beautiful little house in a safe neighborhood with a small garden for her baby boys to play in, at just the right price. Everything that she had hoped for was coming in to place; all it took was her life savings plus a loan.
The first heavy rainfall came and the roof of Mariella’s home fell apart! Her life shattered into pieces, she was now homeless, broke and with two baby boys to take care of.
Due to the circumstance (paying the loan of a home she cannot live in plus having to pay rent in another place), she was forced to move in to one of the most dangerous parts of the city, el Jarillon. Not only is this area dominated by gangs and drugs, but it is also an extremely high risk flood area…. This is not the life she dreamed and hoped for her boys!
The Solution:
Let’s help Mariella re-build her home!
We have gathered help form a local architect who is willing to do his part pro-bono, all we need are the funds for the supplies. We have estimated that supplies will cost $5,000 USD.
Let’s change lives, let’s help these amazing people. The fate of the young boys are in your hands!!
