HELP SUPPORT MY FAMILY FROM FLOODS

Hello my name is Christian LaCouture. My family has suffered some very big setbacks recently. I tore my ACL during football practice and I am heading into surgery today. This has been an emotional time not for just me but my family who are always there for me. More importantly is my families home was mostly destroyed in the recent flooding in Baton Rouge. We are not listed as a "flood" zone so unfortunately the insurance company said it isn't covered under our homeowners policy. We also lost two vehicles and haven't even checked into that situation as of yet. My parents will have to pay for everything out of pocket to just get our home cleaned and safe to live in again not to mention gutting the whole first floor including appliances, beds, walls, floors, clothing etc. We lost everything. Our entire surroundings and security wiped out just like that! It breaks my heart to watch my Mom and Dad working hard to clean out the house, carrying soggy mattresses, furniture, boards from the uprooting flooring, and I can't even help them lift anything because of this torn ACL! I feel so helpless and very sad for my parents. The reason I feel this way is because my parents came to Louisiana to support and give guidance to my sister and I while we are at LSU and now I can't even help them with this disaster. My parents are very proud and hard working people and are too proud to ask for help. They do not know I am setting up this account for them. I am not ashamed to ask for help on behalf of two of the hardest working people I know. Writing this page is one small way I can help them. I am saddened that in this country when someone works everyday all their life, pays their bills, gives military service, coaches and helps kids have a better life, provides mental health services in our community in areas that no one else would go...can not receive help and support in their time of need. I am asking and would be most appreciative of any donation you could make to help us salvage our home. Please help me to help my parents at a time when I can not.
