Help Us Get Jake A Mobility Device

Jake Schultz was born with Achondroplasia which is a type of dwarfism. Jake has had 16 surgeries over the course of his life to help correct problems with his tissue, bones and the curvature of his spine. Recently, Jake has been having a lot of pain in his extremities and shoulders. He had a CT scan to try to help determine the cause of his pain and recently had further testing to try and determine the cause (still waiting for those results). Basically, the stress that is put on Jake's body from walking is causing his leg and ankle pain. The more he has to walk the more he suffers from pain (i.e. walking from the school to the cafeteria and back, family walks, going to football games, etc.).

We (myself and his friend Daryn) are raising funds for a two wheeled urban scooter from www.littlescoot.com to help Jake with mobility which will greatly reduce the amount of pain he has to endure. The cost quoted to me was $2799 (cost plus height modification and shipping) and we may have to pay a duty tax that we might be charged. Daryn has raised $730 and we estimate that we need an additional $2,500. We would like to be able to order the device by the middle of October but if the funds are raised sooner it will be ordered as soon as our goal is reached.
