Corbin's Caring Christmas Cause

Hi my name is Corbin! I am 12 years old and this is my
third year that I will be raising money to give to my local animal shelters in Missoula, Montana. Last year with the help of a lot of great people, I was able to raise $3,000. I was the youngest major donor to these organizations. This last spring I was awarded The Ken Shughart "Junior" Humanitarian Award where I stated that this year my goal was to double that amount. Because of that I'm starting early this year. I am hoping that with your help and generous donations that I can meet that goal. All the money raised through this online fundraiser along with my private sales gets split equally and goes directly to the shelters the week of Christmas.

I began doing this three years ago after my Uncle had died from a rare form of Leukemia. My Uncle had worked at an animal shelter and was a huge lover of animals of all kinds. It was after seeing an ASPCA commercial that I wanted to help animals. My mom explained that although we couldn't save all the animals from the commercials that perhaps we could help some here in our town. This is how Corbin's Caring Christmas Cause began. This helps me do something I know my Uncle would be proud of and also allows his memory to live on through my work. It makes my family and community proud as well. It feels good to know that I do something that really matters.

Even though my mom and I do a lot of hard work every year to make this happen, it really could not happen without the help of every day heroes like you! Without your donations and contributions none of this would be possible. I am so very thankful to everyone who believes in me and helps me to help the animals.

To explain my relationship to the beneficiaries of my fundraiser, I am a 3rd year (youngest) major donor to The Humane Society of Western Montana and to AniMeals No Kill Adoption Center and Food Bank. Both located in Missoula, Montana. I have worked with both of these non-profit organizations going on 3 years and raise money through donations and private sales every Christmas season. The week of Christmas, my parents and I, withdraw the money from the GoFundMe and since it usually takes a few days to transfer and is handled by my step father,  Matthew Pelham, he writes two post dated checks for the amounts that will be received by these organizations. I also take the cash that I raise from my private sales and split the funds equally between the two organizations.
