MOM'S MEDICAL EXPENSES

Hello everyone, our names are Shawnda, Jay, and Lacy and we are creating this GoFundMe page on behalf of our mother Wendy. Our mom has always been a sweet, loving, and compassionate woman. She has opened her heart and home to many people and has always been there for everyone. She needs our help now. On May 21, 2014 she was diagnosed with Adenocarcinoma. Less than 4% of people get this very rare form of cancer. She had surgery on June 5, 2014 to remove her appendix and half of her colon. During her 6 months of chemo, which was very hard on her, she suffered a pulmonary embolism and was admitted to the hospital. After the 6 months of chemotherapy, she was told she was in remission, which happened to be the same day our parents were told they had 2 months to move due to their house foreclosing after a 3 year fight.  In September 2015 they moved to Lake Havasu, AZ due to an easier financial situation as both our parents are medically retired. With numerous doctor visits in Arizona, they found that her C-19 cancer markers started climbing quickly. On August 9, 2016, a laparoscopic exploratory surgery was performed on her abdomen and a 2 lb tumor was removed from her omentum. We will find out the stage of cancer it is on Aug 22, 2016. The purpose of this fundraiser is to reach out for help to manage all of the medical expenses, which her portion is 20% of all medical services (i.e petscans, labs, ct's, oncologist visits, surgeon visits, etc). We were told that the chemo pills that she needs to be on are $3,200 a month. That would be her portion to pay. She was given a grant for 1 year, which we are very thankful for.  Nobody ever expects this to happen to their parent nor any loved one. The financial burden that it causes is very stressful and draining. We just want her to focus on her fight and alleviate some of the pressure, so she can stay strong.   

We love our mother to the moon and back and back again. We could not imagine a life without her. She is our hero and our rock. She is the best mom, aunt, sister, friend, daughter and the BEST grandmother to two beautiful little girls who need their Mema.
