Attention Glenn’s ARMY!!!
I wanted to provide everyone a quick update on Glenn aka "GSP" (BFD LT E-39) and his current status. A few months ago the doctors at Dana Farber found a second tumor on his heart and he has been receiving out-patient chemo for it the last several months. He was admitted two days ago (10/3) to the Brigham & Women’s Hospital to received additional intensive chemotherapy. Glenn will be in the hospital for about 30+ days where he will also receive bone marrow & stem cell transplant therapy. He is doing okay but we are in need of your prayers for him and his family.
As many of you know this not Glen's first battle with cancer. Glenn is an amazing husband to Sonneva and father to four beautiful young children. He is a fireman’s fireman, solid to the core and without a shadow of a doubt would do ANYTHING for anybody.
Today (10/5) is also Glenn's 41st BIRTHDAY! (which he shares with his oldest daughter.) He obviously has spent the day in his hospital room at the Brigham. Glenn doesn’t have a Facebook account to but please feel free to leave a message here and we will make sure he sees it.
This is understandably a tough time on him and his family but they are all tough and know the road to battle better than the first time and will get through this. We are told this this therapy is going to hit him hard and are trying desperately to be cognizant of his health, rest and time with his family. This will be a longer recovery than last time and he will not be working at his own business or Boston Fire Dept. The second income will be missed.
With this gofundme account we are hoping to lessen the strain on Glenn and his family so all focus is on Glenn's health and recovery. Last year when cancer struck the amazing outpouring of donations and words of wisdom were beyond amazing and unforgettable. No one expects anything like last year but any little bit helps.
Finally, THANK YOU to everyone for your support and prayers. We all love Glenn and know he will beat this coming out on top again, better for it. Please continue to keep Glenn, Sonneva and all the kids in your thoughts & prayers!
