Christopher Lampshire was tragically killed on August 13, 2016 in a single-engine plane crash taking off from Birchwood Airport in Chugiak, Alaska. He was only 43-years-old. He leaves behind his loving wife Faydra, his two amazing children, and large extended family who are heart-broken at this sudden loss.

Chris was a Captain for the US Forest Service in the Chugach National Forest where he served his Country and Alaska with pride. Chris loved the outdoors and possessed a larger than life attitude and passion for hunting, fishing, hiking, and singing while doing ordinary chores or snuggling with his dogs. He was very much in love with his wife of more than 20 years, which he would show in small cute gestures almost every day. He was also a great father and uncle and enjoyed teaching all the kids in the family about the outdoors.

His co-workers and friends have opened an account in his name (Lampshire Memorial Fund) which can be contributed to at any AlaskaUSA branch or through this Gofundme site.

The funds will go toward immediately helping Chris's family cover the costs associated with this tragedy and in getting family members who are spread all over the US to Alaska at this critical time.
