My name is Tina - this campain is for my sister Maggie who is legally blind.
This is Maggies story as she described it:
I needs eSight to work and to see my kids
I’ve been legally blind for about three years now because of optic neuropathy resulting in having to give up my job and many of my activities. I feel like I am missing out on so much!
I was s so excited a few months ago when for one magical hour, I could actually see normally, using eSight when I went to a demonstration of this advanced type of electronic eyewear that allows some legally blind people to see. eSight worked incredibly well for me! With eSight on, I had almost normal vision – the best I’ve had in years. It was fantastic!
Unfortunately, I can’t afford the $15,000 eSight costs. That’s why I’m asking for your help.
I’m a widow. My daughter still lives at home with me but her busy schedule as a high school teacher means I'm home by myself frequently. Now that I can’t see, I can’t shop for groceries, or read anything, and of course I can’t drive. The tiny little things in life I always took for granted have become a big problem, from reading the TV guide to writing a check. But with your help, I could see – if you donate now to help me get eSight.
eSight would make such an enormous difference in my life. It would help me to manage my household and pay my bills, to get out of the house and socialize, and to enjoy normal things like watching TV and reading books in my free time.
It would also make it possible to clearly see my children’s faces and to enjoy going places with them. I missed seeing my oldest son’s wedding properly and my daughter’s college graduation, but hopefully I will see my next two children get married. I want to see people’s expressions again. It would matter so much!

As well as wanting to be able to enjoy every milestone of our family life, I’d like to do things like seeing everyone on stage at a play. And with your help, I will!
