Big update time -

You all have been wonderful, and thank you so much for the donations!

Eric's clubmates and friends Ashleigh and Chris Hobbs had intended on volunteering to help out flood victims (Chris was filling sandbags and going door-to-door at 2 AM to try and get people out, and helped rescue one woman from her home), but their house ended up getting flooded, and may currently be under as much as 6 feet of water.

The Hobbs' insurance does not cover the contents of their house, and Ashleigh's car may be underwater as well.

So, with Eric's blessing, we are expanding this campaign to help out the Hobbs as well.

Eric Bryan Wiggins is a longtime member of our HEMA community. He is a beloved instructor and friend.

The home of Eric, his wife Meghan and their 3 young children (ages 2, 5, and 7), has been completely flooded by the heavy Louisiana rains. They were stranded on the second floor of their barn in the middle of the night and for a dozen hours until early afternoon the next day. Rescuers were finally able to reach them by boat and take them to safety.

Most of their belongings are probably a loss, including their children's beds and toys. The family vehicle was completely submerged in the flood waters. It will be days until they can begin working on their home, and much longer until they can likely live there again. While they do have flood insurance, it will take time to get sorted out, and there will be plenty of extra costs involved.

Please consider donating to this family in their time of need. Their resources are stretched thin, and every dollar counts.
